How to set up MFA
Yes this is long but you must read and follow if you want to maintain access to your email when not inside the dealership.
ALL,
Due to the increase in cyber-attacks like Ransomware our insurance carriers are requiring changes to the way we access email when outside of our dealership. Starting October 1st I must have either Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA or Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security system that requires two separate, distinct forms of identification in order to access something. The first factor is a password and the second commonly includes a text with a code sent to your smartphone, or biometrics using your fingerprint or face) or disable email access from any device (cell phones included) when not physically inside our dealership networks.
Some of you already completed step one when I first sent this email back in June. If so skip to step two.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
STEP ONE:
You will need to register your username to set up a cell phone associated with your account. This number is not shared with the system and is only used for the purpose of verifying your identity. Please follow the below steps.
Go to our Support Home Page somdauto.com/support and Click on Register to Reset Password
Then click the link shown below with red arrow.
Type your user ID, it is the same thing you type to logon to your PC. Make sure to put @kodyholdings.onmicrosoft.com at the end as shown.
If you have entered a correct UserID you will get the below password prompt. It is the same as your current PC logon password. Enter your password and click Sign In
Once you have successfully logged in you will see the below. Click Next
The below screen is where you set up your cell phone. Click the link “Set it up now” indicated for Authentication Phone
Enter your cell phone as shown below. Then click text me.
You will receive a verification code on your cell phone. Please enter it as indicated below and click Verify.
Click finish.
STEP TWO:
Now that you have your account registered on the cloud you will need to setup MFA access. Please follow the below steps.
First make sure you have the Microsoft Authenticator app loaded on your phone. It can be found on the Play store on Google or the app store on Apple.
If you are not already logged in to the portal please use your desktop computer login like you want to reset your password at https://myprofile.microsoft.com/ . Choose Security Info on left
Then Click Add method and choose “Authentication App” from the drop down
Follow the prompts choose Microsoft. Scan QR code with phone and click Next. It will ask you to test.
Call 9000 if you need assistance.
